Amazon raises the bar with its cool Kindle DX model of popular Kindle Reader line of eBook Readers. The Amazon Kindle DX, a wireless eBook reading device is much larger than its predecessors, Kindle and Kindle 2 readers.  It is 9.7” in length and is ideal for reading newspapers, magazines and textbooks.

The newest Amazon Kindle maintains Amazon’s lead over other ebook readers and makes it the best eBook reader and overcomes the challenge from Sony eBook readers PRS 500 and PRS 700 and Nook which has yet to hit the market. The cool Kindle DX display is very easy to read from because it uses the latest technology in electronic ink technology.  It is easy to read even in bright sun light and there are no problems due to glare or backlight.  The power consumption is low as a result.  You can read for days on a single charge. Kindle and Kindle 2 readers did not have built in PDF readers and Sony readers did. That differentiation is no longer there because Cool Kindle DX now has a built in PDF Reader that allows us to carry all the PDF e-books, and personal and professional documents where ever we go. The display is very sophisticated and rich supporting 16 shades of grey to allow viewing a variety of reading material including graphic rich content such as maps and computer graphics.  The display can automatically rotate between portrait and landscape viewing modes for viewing large width content such as maps, graphics, images and tables.  This makes Kindle DX not only a personal companion but an important professional companion and could become as useful as the business wireless devices such as Blackberry and i-phone.

Just like its predecessors Kindle and Kindle 2 readers, Kindle DX supports built in 3G wireless capability through Whispernet which means you can always get connected without having to look and pay for WiFi hotspots.  You can download in less than 60 seconds from Amazon Kindle library of 350000 books and magazines.

The Amazon Kindle DX has an internal memory of about 4GB which can store up to 3,500 books. You can go with this massive library anywhere in the world.  If you are on the move and want to download a new book you can do that anywhere in the US. But unlike its predecessor Kindle 2 you cannot download while traveling abroad.  Like its predecessors Amazon Kindle DX does not have external memory card slots to allow you to create libraries on your own digital media. Look for such a feature in future models.  Yes the bigger sleeker Amazon Kindle DX is more expensive than its smaller predecessor the 6” Amazon Kindle 2.

For all the features and advanced technology we think Cool Amazon Kindle DX is the Best eBook Reader right now in the market.

The evolution in the field of book publishing has given me little option than to provide interested parties with a review of the Amazon Kindle. It is hard to believe that the mediums on which we as humans used to both write and read have evolved so rapidly. First, we used stone walls to convey messages and information, next we used papyrus and then paper for this purpose yet in more recent years, digital technology has been used to convey information both for formal and informal purposes. The Amazon Kindle has proved to be leading edge when it comes to conveying information in an electronic format. Critics have always given regard to a book’s print and not to its paper when reviewing books. Here we will review books in their more modern form, where they are read with the use of the Amazon Kindle.

          What is an Amazon Kindle?

An Amazon Kindle is a device which allows users to read e-publications – books, magazines and newspapers in a digital or electronic format. The Amazon Kindle was first released in the year of 2007 and since then, two major Kindle models have been released. Each new Kindle model released has been refined to render the reading of e-publications easier and more authentic. The DX is the latest Kindle model. This model offers a wide range of features not offered by previous models.

          How is the Kindle used?

Books, magazines and newspapers are downloaded onto the Amazon Kindle through the use of Amazon’s Whispernet network. Downloading is free and the only payment involved is for the cost of the book itself. Once a publication has been chosen, it gets transferred onto the Amazon Kindle in an instant. The Kindle has rendered the buying of books a simpler, swifter process.

How many books come in Kindle format?

Over 600,000 books come in Kindle format. The titles of these books range from the classics (which are often supplied free of charge) to today’s bestsellers. Bestselling books are often priced at less than the cost of their paperback equivalent, rendering the Amazon Kindle a profitable buy for avid book readers.

How many e-books can be stored on the Kindle?

The Amazon Kindle 2 is able to store around 1,500 books in digital format. The DX on the other hand can store over 3,000 texts. For most people, carrying over 3,000 paperback texts is inconceivable, rendering the Kindle the obvious choice when it comes to book transportation. The Kindle is considered a slim, well designed electronic library by the 3,000,000 people who already own it.

How much does the Amazon Kindle cost?

The cost of the Amazon Kindle is of importance to interested parties. The Kindle 3G can be purchased for $189 while the Kindle DX can be found for $379. Used Kindles can also be found for purchase at cheaper prices. People have never failed to buy second-hand books and this tradition is likely to be carried into the new digital era.

Reading has evolved from paper to digital formats. Piles of old, dusty books with worn covers will soon be replaced by digital reading platforms like those offered by the various models of the Amazon Kindle. Modern libraries do not require entire rooms for their storage; in fact, they do not even take up the space of a single paperback book. While the pastime of reading may have been transformed by current technology, the Amazon Kindle ensures that reading becomes no less pleasurable than before.

Free Cookbooks For Kindle: Linked List of Over 100 Free Classic Cook Books (Free Books on Kindle)

            UPDATED AUGUST 1st 2011

There are over 100 free cookbooks included in this linked list for easy download and all of them are part of Amazon’s permanent collection. I didn’t include any new promotional cookbooks which are only free for a couple weeks before the publisher raises the price.

Some of these cookbooks date back to the 1600′s, but the majority were published during the 19th century. Some are manuals for professional cooks, others are beginners guides. Some are collections of recipes from church ladies and charitable groups, others are focused on desserts, canning, vegetarian diets, etc. There’s even a White House cookbook from after the Civil War.

You can still make the recipes from “Twenty-Five Cent Dinners for Families of Six” but you can’t do it for a quarter unless you’re shoplifting all of the ingredients. The philosophy of eating well and cheaply is a common theme in many early cookbooks, but there are also some cookbooks focused on high-end ingredients for epicures.

For every title, I include a “more info” link that includes a small excerpt from the linked cookbook, to give you an idea whether it is worth your time to download. If the author wrote a descriptive introduction, it is reproduced. If there is no introduction, a few sample recipes or a list of recipe tiles is given. When the book is more oriented to nutrition or health than recipes, the sample is usually from the preface. But don’t skip by some of the large Victorian household books that include everything about running a home, including hundreds of recipes. I try to include some fun recipes in the excerpts, like three ways to make a cheese sandwich.

This list of all the free classic cookbooks on Amazon works three ways. If you click the linked title, it will bring you directly to the product page for the free cookbook in the Kindle store. If you are using a Kindle 3, an iPad, or other eBook reader with a decent web browser, you can sign into your Amazon account and download the cookbook immediately.

If you are reading on an older Kindle 2 or Kindle 1, you can add the book to your Wish List and the next time you use a computer to access Amazon, you can have the Wish List items sent to your Kindle for free. Or, if you want to begin reading a cookbook immediately on an older Kindle, there are two further options. You can simply note the title and cover design of the linked cookbook in the Kindle store, and then search for the title with your Kindle. If there are multiple copies, pick the one with the cover that matches, confirm that it is free, and then download it to your Kindle.

Finally, if you click the “more info” in this eBook, the first thing that appears is the unique Amazon ID for the cookbook, the ASIN. If you make a note of the ASIN, you can go directly to the Kindle store, type that in the search box, and you will be brought directly to the title.

I hope you enjoy this list as much as I enjoyed pulling it all together and doing the programming for the links.

Kindle 3 has been rated as incredible and took over as eventual ereader out there now. We´re one of the first who tested this product: see this Kindle 3 review.

While everyone believed that adding color will be the only feature that may make the Kindle 3 stand above the Kindle 2, Amazon’s ideas were distinct:

“Color will not enhance the legibility of the screen”. “It is recorded in books also emphatically in black and white”.

Their stand was consolidated right. Color is a distraction and does not improve readability as we can only confirm in our Kindle 3 review.

            The software and hardware features

Most of the options that come with Kindle 2 can be found in Kindle 3, for instance social networking, 60 second book download, and centered features, free 3G access to Kindle Store, cross-platform book sharing and free 3G accesses to 100 countries.

Kindle 3 seems to have made the Kindel book reader more effective, easy to use and easy carrying with those enhancements which were integrated into this. With all the reduction in size to 7.5 X 4.8 X 1.335 inch in Kindle 3; it has become more easily portable.

The elnk screen has got down to 6 inches and weight of the device has reduced down to 8.7 ounces with the scaling down of its size. The readability is enhanced greatly as noticed in our Kindle 3 review and with the size reduction the new Kindel book reader is now lighter, thinner and smaller.

The Kindle 3 now has a memory that’s double than its previous version.

With a memory of 4GB, the Kindle 3G WiFi can carry now at any given time, amazing 3500 books in it. In that Kindle 3 review we realize that it’s under gone a lot of ergonomic changes, as we look at the Kindle 3.

Apparently Amazon really should have given a deep thought while designing & while doing this splendid job. For instance, consider the page turn buttons. The task does not make any noise though the buttons have become more handier. Placed on both sides of the screen, the buttons that were broader in the previous edition have been made one-quarter of an inch and have> and < as labels in place of words . The ease of use has enhanced substantially as you can read throughout this Kindle 3 review.

A free 3G access for more than 100 countries is included with the Kindle 3 version.

Due to the provision of WiFi in Kindle 3, for those who won Kindle 3 can get access to the web or any book store in fact outside 3G areas fortunately.

The new Kindel book reader has been developed not only for the bright eyed; even those with impaired vision can use the Kindle 3.

With a feature that has been incorporated with the new Kindel book reader it is made possible to read out menus and item descriptions . A great feature we came across this Kindle 3 review.

A very wise decision indeed taken by Amazon could appear to have been in not adding any color support and touchscreen to Kindle 3.

Kindle 3 has a far excellent readability as talked about before in this Kindle 3 review. With all the features Kindle 3 no doubt is the most effective eReader that is obtainable and it offers great worth for your money. You can have your choice of Graphite or White Kindle 3.

Most of the discussion about eBook reading on the iPad vs. the Kindle centers on the devices themselves.

Now that I’ve had my iPad for a couple of months and my new Kindle 3 for 10 days (I’ve had a Kindle 1 since they first came out), I can say that I would prefer to read most books on the Kindle 3. If the book has a lot of graphics or photos, particularly color ones, the iPad naturally wins. But the screen glare gets annoying rather quickly for any long-form reading.

I love the iPad for web browsing, quick information look-ups, weather and news apps, and a few other things while seated comfortably in my easy chair in the evening.

Besides Apple’s own iBooks app, I also have the Kindle for iPad, Nook, Kobo, and Stanza apps on my iPad.

If I do decide to read a book on the iPad, I am most likely to use the Kindle for iPad app (even color graphics and photos look great on the Kindle for iPad app).

                Why?

The Kindle for iPad is a far superior application.

The iBooks app looks nice but the browsing, searching, and buying functions are awkward and not very functional (especially the browse and search functions).

The Nook app switches to the Safari browser to find and buy an eBook and does not automatically return me to the Nook app and download the book Lousy design. I have also had several instances where I cannot get the book to download to the Nook app.

The Kobo app is not much better, and I don’t care much for the functionality of its reading interface.

The kindle app, on the other hand, brings all of Amazon’s content (far more than iBooks) and its excellent browse and search capabilities (which are both better and much faster) to the iPad. On the top, Amazon’s great one-click buying experience works perfectly on the iPad. Of course, it does switch to the Safari browser but, when you’ve bought the book, you just click to send it the Kindle for iPad and it takes you right back to the reading app. The book immediately downloads and you can read it right away.

Like iBooks, some kindle books now have audio and video clips embedded. Those look just as good on the Kindle for iPad as on iBooks.

Some fancy typography and layout “stuff” can only be done in ePub and, thus, won’t display as prettily in a Kindle book. But if the designer took care to accommodate the Kindle platform’s limitations (while capitalizing on the additional display capabilities when read on the iPad), those kindle books can provide just as pleasant a reading experience as anything available from iBooks.

And you’re far more likely to find the book you were looking for on Amazon than on iBooks.

And if you decide to read the book on your Kindle 3, the text will be just a crisp and the photos and graphics will look great, albeit in B&W, as anything you can read on the iPad.

And that leads to one other factor that I like when reading kindle books — I can read the same book on the Kindle today and the iPad tomorrow (or my iPhone, Blackberry, or Mac if I had one) and both will automatically sync to the last page I read, wherever I read it.

So, despite all the naysayers who insist that the iPad will be the death of the Kindle, I have no doubt that the Kindle will be around for a long time and will be continually updated. Including a color Kindle (maybe even with touch screen) and probably a Kindle that can read both Kindle and ePub format (possibly even alternately from the same downloaded file).
